Political Science - Master of Arts

The M.A. degree program in Political Science is aimed at students with a first degree in social sciences who wish to specialize in the areas of governance and organization, political communication, foreign policy and public policy or digital politics in a research-oriented Master's degree program.

The degree program enables graduates to understand and analyse political, legal, social and economic aspects of the megatrends of globalization and digitalization in their interrelationships.

As part of the merger with the Landau campus, the existing Master's degree program in Political Science established at the Kaiserslautern location was adapted in light of the additional expertise now available at the Landau location and the personnel and content resources located here, and expanded in terms of the content options available to students. The examination regulations adapted on this basis have already been published and apply to those students who will be enrolled for the first time or re-enrolled in the Master's degree program in Political Science at RPTU from the winter semester 2023/2024.

You can find the examination regulations here.

You can find the module handbook here.

If you are enrolled in the Master's program in Political Science (PO 2023) and would like to attend courses at the Landau location in the summer semester 2024, please also register at the Landau location. You can find the application form here!

Students who had enrolled in the Master's degree program in Political Science at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau before the winter semester 2023/24 can continue and complete their studies on the basis of the examination regulations in force at that time.
