The Department of Pedagogy currently has five professorships: a professorship with the denomination "Adult Education" (Matthias Rohs) and a professorship for "General Pedagogy with a focus on School Pedagogy" (Mandy Schiefner-Rohs) as well as a senior professorship (Rolf Arnold), an associate professor (Mikiko Eswein) and an assistant professorship "Vocational Education with a focus on Digital Transformation" (Hannes Saas).

The research focus of the department thus encompasses almost all areas of education: from school research to higher education research to vocational and continuing education research.
