Leonie Steckermeier holds a BA in Social Sciences from the TU Braunschweig and an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Stuttgart. She completed her PhD in Sociology at the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in 2022. From 2015-2018 she worked on the DFG project "Inequality, Status Anxiety and Quality of Life. An investigation and extension of Spirit Level Theory for Europe". From 2018-2024 she worked at the Chair of Macrosociology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (teaching and research). In 2024, she was appointed Junior Professor of Applied Sociology at the RPTU in Kaiserslautern.
