In the framework of the priority program AUDICTIVE („Auditory Cognition in Interactive Virtual Environments“) of the DFG (German Research Foundation), EcOClass-VR investigates cognitive performance in classroom-like settings using audiovisual virtual reality. In our sub-project, we explore children´s and adults´ language comprehension in increasingly complex audiovisual classroom scenarios. In addition to word-in-noise perception, we use a complex listening task requiring identification, storage, processing and acting-out of oral instructions. We stepwise increase the reality of the audiovisual classroom scenario and the actions to-be-performed by the participants.
