About the symposium
An international symposium on educational disaster research will be held at University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (Campus Kaiserslautern) from 21 July to 23 July 2025. Disaster and Climate researchers and practitioners from the UK, Spain and Germany have been invited to collaborate to explore solutions to problems that have emerged in their research. The Symposium is funded by IOE International Funds, from IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society – London and RPTU University of Kaiserslautern-Landau, Faculty of Social Sciences.
Research on disasters has so far been underexplored in educational science. The Education Forum for Disaster and Climate Risk aims to address this topic and network scientists from all over the world. To this end, we would first like to narrow down the topic at the symposium and define our research priorities. In addition, we would like to familiarise ourselves with research and practice on disaster education in different countries. As well as the Disaster Education Network Forum founding members, we have invited a range of guests from the joining countries
