The department council is the department's highest decision-making body and is made up of members of the professorate, students and academic and non-academic staff.

The Faculty Council elects the Dean and the Vice Dean. The Faculty Council is also responsible for fundamental issues in the areas of research and teaching, such as the establishment or discontinuation of degree programs, the adoption of examination regulations or the awarding of academic titles.
