Module 1

Lecture Introduction to School Pedagogy

The lecture consists of an integrated format. Using the materials in the OLAT course, you will acquire the basic concepts of school pedagogy and initial approaches to academic work through self-study.

These basic concepts will be deepened in four lecture sessions (each Fri 12.15-13.45) and in three workshops (each Fri 14-17.30).

All other important information is available in OLAT. We will send you the link and password after successful registration in KIS.

The lecture is offered every semester.

Lecture Introduction to Psychology

In this lecture, we first look at aspects of developmental, personality, cognitive and motivational psychology that are fundamental to social cognition and social action. We then look at core social psychological topics such as attitudes, stereotypes and prejudices as well as the attribution of behavior to a person or situation. Finally, we look at various facets of behavior in social contexts. These include more positive phenomena such as group processes and assistance, but also disturbing phenomena such as aggression, conformity and obedience. We often use examples from history, politics and literature and rely primarily on experimental findings.

Further information on the teaching of the research group this semester can be found on the homepage of the Department of General Psychology.

The lecture is only offered in the winter semester.

Lecture on developmental psychology and personality development

This lecture provides an overview of the developmental psychology of childhood and adolescence. After an introduction to the subject area, theories and methods of developmental psychology, the most important milestones of cognitive and social-emotional development from early childhood to adolescence are presented. Furthermore, implications of developmental psychological findings for the design of educational processes in school contexts will be discussed.

Schedule and further information as well as texts and tasks will be provided in the OLAT course.
You will receive access after registration in the KIS
.

The lecture is offered every semester.

Lecture Introduction to Sociology

In this lecture, the basics of empirical-analytical sociology are taught and applied to elementary social processes and phenomena. In order to enable an explanation of collective phenomena, a macro-micro-macro model is used in this lecture. In this model, collective phenomena are understood as an (unintended) consequence of individual action and the actions of the actors are simultaneously linked to social structures.

Please register in KIS to receive further information.
