In research and teaching, the department deals with processes of human thought and action as well as questions of social coexistence. This strengthens the interdisciplinary context to the technical and scientific subjects at RPTU and thus RPTU as a whole. The department is extremely successful with this orientation, as confirmed by the rapidly growing number of third-party funded projects and rising student numbers. In addition, students of other subjects - such as students of socioinformatics - are also trained in the department's courses. A good supervision ratio enables productive learning in small courses and individual contact between students and lecturers.
